June 8-12

5 p.m.-8 p.m.

Ages 13-18

You’ve read them, you’ve even acted in them, but have you ever thought about WRITING one? This playwriting workshop will teach the basic skills and considerations needed to put your imagination on paper. Culminating in a 24-hour festival in August (see the dessert menu!), this workshop will even give you an opportunity to see your piece performed!

Soup: Lyrical Soup

June 22-26

9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Ages 5-12

Ever wanted to know what it’s like to write a musical? Now is your chance. Sink your teeth into a  mouthwatering week guided by Sand Lawn while writing the songs, creating the set, and learning lines  to be performed in a VERY original adaptation of a popular fairytale on Friday afternoon!

Salad: Tossed Direction

July 6-10

5 p.m.-8 p.m.

Ages 13-18

Just like tossing a salad, there’s an art to directing. Choosing your cast and then balancing blocking and scheduling are a lot like trying to keep your lettuce from landing on the counter or floor while you’re making that masterpiece in the kitchen! This week will bring to light all of the considerations a director must be aware of while training you to work around

show specific themes and needs. Then show off your newly honed talents at Spumoni Festival Sundae!

Entrée: Country Fried Tryouts

July 20-24

9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Ages 5-18

Breaded with all the best techniques for how to have a successful audition, this workshop will turn you into a triple threat with choreography practice, vocal selection suggestions, preparation tips, and advice on how to find a character when you only have a few moments to think about it.

Dessert: Spumoni Festival Sundae

August 7 - 8

9 p.m.-9 p.m.

Ages 5-18

This 24 hour theatrical festival is our sweet treat to end the summer. Be involved as a playwright, director, actor, or audience member. Whichever path you take, you’re sure to be full of good experiences in the end! Playwrights will  spend the night finishing and tweaking the scripts they began in “Fried Cheese Scripts”. Directors from “Tossed” will take over the next morning being assigned the new original plays, and actors in the area will come to audition for them. The day will be spent in rehearsal and the evening will be capped with debut performances of each 10 minute play!
